OMFG!!!
Using the stumble add-on for firefox has shown me some great things, but today it finally helped me put an old demon to rest.

In my childhood, I watched a cartoon show that really affected me. It wasn't popular or shown more than once but there was one scene that stuck in my head like a nightmarish echo.

I remembered that a main character had been captured by a giant evil thing with an exposed ribcage. He did something to them and they mutated into a huge skeletal thing who could open their ribcage and put people in it like a mobile prison. Their transformation fasinated me completely.

As I grew older I forgot the entire thing, except this one scene and the very last image of the series, a tenticle in a can.

Talking to people as I grew older, no one had ever heard of this cartoon. Had I dreamt it? Was it just a bad dream one night that had ingrained itself? If it did exist was the monster and the tenticle actually from the same series, or was I getting it confused with another series?

Every now and then, i'd remember this and just assume it was one of my vivid dreams that I had filed wrongly in my head.

But today, using stumble, I came across a website that listed disturbing scenes from our childhood cartoons like the fact that the Thundercats were all naked in the first episode and that the Smurfs sung someone to death in one episode.

At number 2 theres an entry about a Cartoon called The Inhumanoids. In the comment it states:

In the show’s opening mini-series, for example, the scientists’ lone female member is turned into a drooling skeletal horror at the touch of the undead D. Compose, possibly because she didn’t have an action figure.

A Skeletal horror? Could it be? Was this the cartoon I had watched as a child?

Her transformation is at 6.40.  And right at the end of the series, theres an image of Tendris's tenticle in a rubbish bin!
